I honor your courage in exploring the possibility of therapy. As a Jungian Psychotherapist, I specialize in helping adults--who feel personally or professionally stuck, depressed, anxious, or distressed--to reclaim hope, meaning and a full, satisfying life. One that reflects your authentic self.
So, whether your struggles seem to be in your personal life, professional life, or both, we can work together to transform the roots of your struggles into renewed strength, self-esteem, and deeper understanding of your life's purpose. In a safe and private space, I help my clients work through and release what's in the way of living every aspect of life freely and fully.
CARE for YOUR PERSONAL and PROFESSIONAL LIFE
While many individuals choose to work with me in therapy to resolve particularly personal concerns (described at length below), I also offer a unique expertise--combining my experience in Jungian and depth psychotherapy with a 17-year career in senior positions in Corporate America--to help successful professionals cultivate a deeper understanding of the purpose of your life's work and its role in your sense of fulfillment in everyday life.
When successful individuals contact me, they tend to:
- Feel stuck or burnt-out, yet accomplished in their field;
- Sense that their work life has become too competitive and draining;
- Find that work has lost its meaning, is increasingly soul-less and unsatisfying;
- Realize that as they have become increasingly successful, work leaves them surprisingly empty.
- Question whether to search for new work or a new career path that seems more meaningful and feeds the soul, and need some help dealing with the complexities and the stress that accompanies this search.
The career and executive coaching work I offer is intended to help you navigate this complex labyrinth of work and career, while not selling your soul, and finding more meaning in your work, while reaping material rewards and abundance.
So, if this sounds familiar to you, perhaps I can help you reclaim a sense of meaning and purpose in your professional life that may affect, enhance, and re-balance your personal life, helping you feel more satisfied and fulfilled overall.

CARING FOR SOUL
As a Jungian Therapist, in my work with clients, I take to heart the meaning of the word psychotherapy; psyche, in Greek means soul, and the root word of therapy is therapeia, which means to tend or care for. My work with clients is so often about helping to tend to the needs, the questions, the many facets of soul, of psychefrom the personal to the professional and beyond. Caring for and developing an in-depth relationship with your soul, your psyche, your Self, and with others in your personal and professional life is at the heart of Jungian psychotherapy.
As you tell your story and as it unfolds, I'll listen with you, valuing and appreciating your unique experiences, offering down-to-earth guidance and real-world support for you along your way. With practical observations and intuitive insights, I'll help you--at your own pace--see through, and perhaps transform what's most difficult so that you are free to live and work the way you want to.
I OFFER EXPERTISE IN HELPING ADULTS WHO ARE:
- Feeling depressed;
- Stuck;
- Anxious or Stressed;
- Not experiencing enough satisfaction or pleasure in life;
- Struggling with a significant relationship or marriage;
- Having an affair and feeling overwhelmed, and not sure where to go from here;
- Working through the aftermath of an affair with your partner;
- Contemplating, experiencing, or trying to work through divorce or breakup;
- Concerned with alcohol use and how it's affecting you and your relationships;
- Wondering about a possible addiction to a substance or a behavior;
- Struggling with grief and confusing feelings from a recent or not-so recent loss of a loved one;
- Adult daughters or sons of alcoholic parents who might say: "I can't put my finger on what's wrong, but I don't feel right; something seems to be missing from my life and relationships; I don't know what it is. And I want to find out."
- Struggling with heart-wrenching relationships with parents or siblings;
- Seeking to deepen your own sense of spirituality;
- Seeking a deeper sense of meaning and purpose in your everyday life;
- In a midlife transitional time and feeling stuck, disoriented, or depressed;
- In midlife, wanting to cultivate your authentic individuality and not sure how to;
- Having difficulty changing troubling patterns;
- Wondering if your difficulties are related to unresolved emotional, sexual, or physical abuse, and how to work through it;
- Searching for work that feeds your soul, dealing with the stress that accompanies this search;
- Looking to rediscover and renew your life's direction and purpose.

WORKING THROUGH
In therapy, I'll work with you to create a deeply supportive and safe space for you to:
- Explore what's troubling, what's in your way of living how you want to;
- Tap into, listen to, and hone your inner voice;
- Work with me as an objective, non-judgmental sounding board to look at varied and multiple ways to sort and work through otherwise complex and confusing situations;
- Safely allow feelings to flow, experiencing their power to enliven you;
- Delve into Imagination--appreciate and use the life-transforming power of your imagination;
- Learn to recognize and open the windows into your unconscious, you imagination, and the collective unconscious--the birthplace of soul and all it asks of us and longs for;
- Learn to see into and through your night-dreams and day-dreams to develop a deeper understanding of their meaning for your life, and learn how to act on what you learn;
- Cultivate the "eyes" to see and experience your life differently;
- Create a deeper relationship with your self--and know the freedom and power that go with it.
So it would be my privilege to join you on your journey, helping you reclaim the way you want to live your unique life. Working with me in therapy, you'd likely find that our work together is about tending your unique experience, turning inward to hear your inner voice of wisdom, and then, empowering your unique expression of yourself in the world so that you can live the way you want to. It's work we'd do together. Deeply. Gently. At your pace.

CULTIVATING WHOLENESS
In my private psychotherapy practice, I pull from several psychological and spiritual traditions with their roots in most indigenous cultures of the world including:
- Jungian Psychology. The gist of which is about our unique development as en-livened individuals who are moving on a spiraling and meandering path toward becoming more and more who we truly are--both personally and professionally--guided by our deepest self, living out the story of our lives as fully as possible;
- Depth Psychology, Archetypal Psychology, Spirituality, Ecopsychology, Mythology, Fairy tales, and Literature to open us to the radical healing and ensouling power of imagination and the unconscious, as well as the imagination's deeply rooted connection with our psyche and soul. We work this way to lend a sense of universality and objectivity to our troubles, which often helps to open up a certain depth of understanding into what brings on our suffering and its potential purpose for our life's journey;
- Working with otherwise unconscious images, thoughts, and feelings so as to awaken new awareness of what our psyche is asking for and attempting to tell us;
- Working with the metaphors of what we literally experience as a way to help us see through what's most painful into its deepest meaning for us;
- Dreamwork to tap into what our soul is asking of us and beckoning for us to hear;
- And the matrix of Western patriarchal culture that so influences our experiences.
All these pieces of psyche, soul, spirit, and self guide and embody our work together, allowing me to work with you and help you in a way that suits your unique set of experiences so that you can cultivate more of your authentic Self. As a naturalist of the individual and collective psyche, I meet you right where you are, serving as a witness and guide on your journey.

WHAT PREPARES ME TO WORK WITH YOU IN JUNGIAN PSYCHOTHERAPY?
Over forty years of life experience including my own in-depth exploration of my psyche--on both a personal and professional level--shapes and deepens my work as a Psychotherapist. Forays into the depths of my psyche, led me to examine, reflect on, and transform my self, my relationships, and my life's work, helping me find the clarity and perseverance to reclaim my soul, and re-shape my life.
As I answered the call to tend soul as a Psychotherapist, to help others experience the transformative process of psychotherapy, I became formally trained as a Psychotherapist through completing a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with Emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, CA (www.pacifica.edu).
While all this prepared me as a Jungian Psychotherapist, my years of experience working with and valuing my clients' stories allows me the privilege of caring for psyche, glimpsing the creativity and resilience of human beings, which is often catalyzed by the transformative nature of Jungian psychotherapy.
In a nut shell, my knowledge of the healing and transformation process goes beyond book-learning. With gratitude and more than a bit of awe, I walk the walk through caring for soul, for psychefor my clients' and my own. And so, I'd be honored to walk with you on your journey. At your pace. One I support you on every step of the way. Compassionately. Skillfully. Soulfully.

P.S. One last thought: perhaps, at this point, you like what you've read here, and yet, you might be wondering about the possibility of working with a male psychotherapist, rather than a female. If that's the case, you might want to check out my partner's Web site at www.jungiantherapy.org. My partner, Peder Furuseth, M.A., and I take a very similar Jungian and Depth-oriented approach to working with people in psychotherapy. We both received our Masters degrees in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and have followed similar paths.
